Question:Can you catch AIDS from a hot spa bath?
Answer:No. Acquired immune deficiency syndrome, strange as it may seem, is a hard disease to catch. Only by sexual intercourse with a man or woman carrying the AIDS virus, by using a needle contaminated with blood from an AIDS sufferer or by receiving a blood transfusion or blood products from an AIDS carrier can you catch the disease. In these situations, there is a very high risk of the AIDS being transmitted, although it may then lie dormant for many years. Casual contact, including kissing, cannot transmit the delicate AIDS virus. There is some inconclusive evidence that the genital herpes virus may be transmitted by spa baths, but not the AIDS virus.
