Question:My son is now 4 months old. But, my anal fissures are yet to recover after such a long period from the birth of my child. It' s very painful when I go to the bathroom. I applied cream suggested by the doctor, but it didn' t work. Can you give some home remedies?
Answer:Anal fissure is a cut or tear in the anal canal skin. A lot of women experience anal fissure during their pregnancy or following delivery. Terminal constipation (having difficulty in completing rectal evacuation) is the major cause of anal fissure in pregnant ladies. Heavyweight babies, longer labor period and anal incontinence following delivery could attribute the occurrence of anal fissure. Late or Forceps delivery may also be the culprit for the anal fissure.

Generally, it heals after some time of child birth. Here are some home tips to heal or provide relief from the pain for the anal fissure.

You may apply Wheat Germ Oil at the affected area.

Try to loose extra weight, which you put on during the pregnancy.

A warm shower can provide relief from the pain.

Have a healthy and balanced diet containing fresh fruits, vegetables and lots of water.

Try to keep the area dry around the anus. If you are suffering from diarrhea, try to check it otherwise it will aggravate your problem.

Topical Creams containing vitamin A and D are also very useful. But, always consult your doctor before buying any such cream.

Cleaning the affected area with chamomile and witch hazel infusion could be very helpful in healing.

Petroleum jelly is also considered effective for this.

Following the above remedy or solution will be completely upon your discretion (responsibility doesn' t lie with the site).
