Question:I have some dental problem for which I am going for a small surgery. Much to my surprise, my Dentist told me that I will be given anesthesia to perform the surgery. Dental surgery is not a major surgery, so why should I put to sleep for this thing. I am very confused. Please help.
Answer:People are given anesthesia in dental surgery to solve various special concerns. Some people are very scared of any kind surgery. The very word "surgery" gives them jitters. So, dentist gives them anesthesia to make them unaware of the procedure and provide them relief from the anxiety during surgery.

Some people need to undergo complex dental surgery, for that they need to put to sleep to perform the dental procedures. Some are unable to fulfill the requirement of the surgical procedures like they can not stay still for a longer period of time and need to be given the anesthesia for the smooth operating.

So, you need to discuss about your situation with your dental surgeon. You shouldn' t worry as your dental surgeon is recommending you because you need this.
