Question:What nutritional support to aid recovery from glandular fever do you recommend?
Answer:Glandular fever is a viral illness with symptoms very similar to those of flu. As well as feeling out of sorts, and possibly feverish or headachy, you might have swollen lymph glands. To recover from this nasty infection you' ll need to support your immune system as much as possible.

Start by following an optimum diet rich in whole-foods such as whole grains, good-quality proteins such as free-range chicken, fish and tofu, and plenty of organic fruit and vegetable, including carrots, beet roots and beet greens, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, gar lic and bean sprouts, and berries, watermelon, oranges and kiwi fruits. Investing in a juicer is a good idea, as every day you should include nutrient-rich juices made from these fruit and vegetable.

Also add in supplements to support the immune system - a multi, vitamin C and an antioxidant complex. Vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, B12, folic acid, C and E are all immune-boosters, as are zinc, magnesium and selenium. Try taking two multis and two antioxidants every day, plus 6g of vitamin C, taken in 2g increments with each meal. I recommend that you see a nutritional therapist.
