Question:I was injured in a car accident. What can I do to help the healing process?
Answer:A The most important nutrient immediately after an accidentis an aminoacid calledglutamine. Glutamine helps the body to heal any injury and is now used bysome surgeons after operations. You need 5g a day, best taken as a powder dissolved in water, away from food. Glutamine powder is much cheaper than capsules.

Also important are zinc and vitamins A and E. A good multivitamin should provide 10mg, 1,500mcg and 100mg (150iu) respectively of these vital healing nutrients. I' d recommend eating seeds every day, which are rich in zinc and vitamin E. Provided you don' t have an open wound, rubbing the content of a vitamin E capsule directly into the skin around a cut can help reduce scarring. Also eat plenty of fruit and vegetables and supplement 1g of vitamin C. This will help the body make collagen, which is essential in the repair of both cuts and bruises.
