Question:I am a 32 year old male with two small patches of hair on either side of my lower back. The hair causes no irritation, but is unsightly. Is there any safe way of removing these hairs?
Answer:These patches of hait ate completely normal, and are no cause for concern. If you look at other men' s backs, you will see these hairs presenr to varying degrees on most. Shaving the hairs will cause stubble to grow that can be more annoying than the longer hairs. Depilatory creams will work for a short time. Hairs anywhere on the body can be permanently removed in a procedure called electrolysis. Small patches can be removed under local anaesthetic by a plastic surgeon. Ask your GP for a referral if you really wish to proceed.
