Question:Apparently i have a collapsed left lung. I have been told there is no heip for it (sic). Could you tell me if this is true?
Answer:There are many causes for a collapsed lung that vary from tuberculosis and surgery to chronic infection and a pneumothorax (air inside the chest but outside the lung). Without knowing the cause of your problem, I cannot comment any further, but I suspect you may have had the problem for some time without being particularly aware of it. It is quite possible to live a normal life with only one lung. If you do not understand your problem you should discuss the matter further with yout general practitioner who will have more information about you, or will be able to obtain the necessary details from the doctors who have been treating you.
