Question:I have just been prescribed Sinequan. Is it a safe drug? What is it used for?
Answer:Sinequan (also known as doxepin) is a very safe drug if raken strictly as directed. You should not use any more tablets than instructed by your doctor. The main side effects are a dry mouth and drowsiness. It should not be mixed with alcohol, and you should be careful if driving or operating machinery. Sinequan is used primarily for the treatment of depression, but may be useful in insomnia, anxiety and other conditions. It is designed for long term use, and it may take two weeks or more after the treatment is started for the medication to become completely effective. The side-effects are more noticeable when the medication is first started, and wear off as time passes.
