Symptoms of Hashimoto' s Thyroiditis Patients have a gradual enlargement of the thyroid gland (goiter) over many months or years. The gland becomes firm, but not tender or painful. Many patients have no other symptoms, and the gland enlargement may be barely noticeable, but in others the gland may gradually cease to function and the patient becomes tired, listless and has other symptoms of hypothyroidism. |
