A viral infection of the liver.
Causes of Hepatitis G
Transmitted from one person to another through blood contamination such as the sharing of needles by drug users, and probably by sex. Very little is yet known about it, as it was only discovered in 1996. It may be widespread, with 1% of normal healthy Americans being infected, and 20% of patients with hepatitis B or C.

Usually minimal.

There is no easily available test for the disease, and only research laboratories can distinguish it from other forms of hepatitis.
