Causes of Housemaid' s Knee
Bursae are small sacs that are connected by a fine tube to a joint cavity. Several are present near every joint, and secrete the synovial fluid which acts as an lubricant for the the joint. One of the bursae supplying the knee is in front of the knee-cap, and it may be damaged by prolonged kneeling or a blow.
