Causes of Louis-Bar Syndrome Unknown. Due to degeneration of the cerebellum (lower back portion of brain) and spinal cord. |
Symptoms of Louis-Bar Syndrome Dilated capillaries on the whites of the eyes, the face and areas of skin flexion (eg. arm pit, behind knee), mental retardation, recurrent infections of lungs and ears, and poor coordination that steadily worsens. Late symptoms include twitching movements of the eyes and abnormal writhing movements of the arms and legs. |
Tests for Louis-Bar Syndrome Numerous blood tests are abnormal, particularly there are very low immunoglobulin levels. |
