Cyst formed from a mucous gland on the cervix, which is the part of the uterus that protrudes into the top of the vagina.

Causes of Nabothian Cyst
Often unknown, but probably due to injury or infection that damages one of the mucous secreting glands in the cervix.

Symptoms of Nabothian Cyst
None. Usually discovered during a routine Pap smear.

Tests for Nabothian Cyst
None necessary.

Treatment for Nabothian Cyst
None usually needed, but may be cut open and drained if necessary.

Complications of Nabothian Cyst of its treatment
Rarely, may be responsible for abnormal bleeding.

Likely Outcome of Nabothian Cyst
Usually remain for many years, but may burst and disappear spontaneously.
