Name: Vestibulitis
Also known as: Vestibular Neuronitis
Disturbance to the three semicircular canals of the balance mechanism in the inner ear.
Causes of Vestibulitis
Inflammation or viral infection of the nerve endings supplying the balance mechanism (vestibular apparatus) in the inner ear, that may be associated with almost any viral infection, including influenza. Excess fluid accumulates in the balance mechanism to make it malfunction.

Tests for Vestibulitis
Usually none necessary, but sometimes special balance tests carried out on the ear.
Treatment for Vestibulitis
Medications (eg. prochlorperazine, diuretics) ease the symptoms.
Complications of Vestibulitis of its treatment
None serious.
Likely Outcome of Vestibulitis
