Causes of Viraemia
Almost any virus that enters the body (often through the nose or mouth) and circulates in the blood, rather than attacking any specific area.
Symptoms of Viraemia
General feeling of being unwell, variable fever, tiredness and generalized aches and pains.
Tests for Viraemia
None normally necessary. Blood tests will show the presence of a virus, and sometimes which one.
Treatment for Viraemia
Aspirin or other anti-inflammatory medications, and pain killers such as paracetamol. Time and rest are the only cures.
Complications of Viraemia of its treatment
Infection may attack a specific organ to cause localized symptoms.
Likely Outcome of Viraemia
Good. Eventually settles spontaneously.
