Question:I am 15 years old and have been suffering from very bad migraines for three months. Is there a permanent solution for the pain?
Answer:Migraines can be prevented and controlled, but there is no permanent cure available. Migraines are uncommon in children, and usually start in the late teens or early twenties. Anyone who suffers from disabling migraines more than once a month should be using preventative medication. This usually involves only one or two tablets a day, and a dosage regime free of any side effects should be possible. Once a migraine is present, it is much harder to cure, but there are tablets and injections (called Imigran), that are very successful in stopping a migraine attack.
