More common in teenagers and young adults and may follow a Streptococcal bacterial infection.
Symptoms of Guttae Psoriasis
Sudden appearance of multiple small, red, scale covered patches on the arms, leg and trunk. Patches may gradually enlarge and merge.
Tests for Guttae Psoriasis
Usually none necessary, but if diagnosis is in doubt it may be confirmed by a skin biopsy.
Treatment for Guttae Psoriasis
One or more of numerous skin preparations including coal tar, dithranol, calcipotriol and steroid creams.
Complications of Guttae Psoriasis of its treatment
May progress to normal psoriasis.
Likely Outcome of Guttae Psoriasis
May disappear spontaneously after a few weeks, or persist for many years. Controlled, but not cured, by medication.
