Causes of Thrombophlebitis
Thrombosis is a clot in a vein and phlebitis is inflammation of the involved blood vessel. Often occurs in a vein which has had a drip inserted into it.

A long rope like, painful, hard, red lump can be felt under the skin along the course of an artery or vein.
